Nvidia has teased a GeForce event on May 31st, the same day the company is expected to unveil its new GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card. Today, a mysterious 11-second teaser video appeared on Twitter, simply revealing a GeForce event scheduled for 10 p.m. PT on May 31st, or 1 a.m. ET on June 1st.
According to recent rumors, the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti will be unveiled on May 31st alongside the RTX 3070 Ti. The RTX 3080 Ti will reportedly have 12GB of GDDR6X memory, which is a 2GB increase over the current RTX 3080. A 384-bit bus, similar to the RTX 3090, is also expected, as well as an increase in memory bandwidth over the RTX 3080.

A hash limit for Ethereum cryptocurrency mining will almost certainly be included in the new RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti graphics cards. Nvidia recently imposed this limit on newly manufactured RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 cards, identifying them as "Lite Hash Rate" or "LHR" cards.
It's not as if retail pricing matters, because new GPU street prices are completely out of control. GPU prices have risen due to a global chip shortage, and demand remains extremely high despite ongoing supply constraints. Nvidia has already stated that these supply issues will continue into 2021, so releasing a new RTX 3080 Ti won't help.
